Hate the impersonal feel of a mall? Looking for a new place to shop? Wish there were outlet malls here in Canada like the ones in the States? You are in luck! Toronto Premium Outlets is the newest and first upscale outlet centre in Canada and its Grand Opening is fast approaching! Opening weekend will take place August 1st-4th with a special Grand Opening ceremony at 9am on August 1st with a ribbon cutting and welcoming speeches from the President of Simon’s Premium Outlets division, John R. Klein as well other local leaders.
Along with musical performances and other entertainment, guests will have the chance to enter to win more than 125 prices worth upwards of $25,000, such as an Ultimate Getaway Weekend at the Trump Hotel and Tower Toronto, a Spa Getaway from Rosewater Spa of Oakville or Burlington and for sports fans, a Toronto Blue Jays autographed baseball. If you are in it for the shopping fun, many individual outlet stores are offering in-store promotions. Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store will give away a $1,500 shopping spree, while Mountain Warehouse will offer free gifts to the first 200 customers. These are only a few of the many opening weekend deals; look forward to additional discounts on the already great savings of 25%-65% shoppers can expect every day at the outlets.
Toronto Premium Outlets are a joint venture between Simon Property Group and Calloway REIT—both globally know developers. Although this centre will be the first in Canada, it joins the esteemed international group of 79 centres. The Centre will feature 85 outlet stores including: Hudson’s Bay Outlet, Bench, Coach, Columbia Sportswear, DKNY, Gap Outlet, Icebreaker, Kate Spade New York, Restoration Hardware and Ted Baker London. Many of these brands never offered outlet shopping in Canada before, which provides shoppers access to great new merchandise!
We got to go behind the scenes in the final days of construction and see what the fuss was all about. The Outlets far exceed the fuss! These streamlined outdoor outlets are visually pleasing and well organized. With parking lots surrounding the entire facility, you can park and enter in numerous walkways. All of the storefronts are the same, which developers feel encourages people to enter into stores they may not have thought of before arriving. The focus is truly on the merchandise with this set-up, which is fantastic for both the shopper and the brands! The Outlets are a streetscape and urban feel, which is a pleasant alternative to the climate-controlled traditional malls. There are a mix of local and large retailers to truly satisfy every type of customer. Men won’t have to wait in the car or the food court while their wives shop, as there is something for everyone!
Excitement mounts as the Grand Opening nears! Toronto Premium Outlets are located in Halton Hills, with easy access off of Highway 401.
