OTTAWA Fashion Week

Canada’s capital hosted the Spring/Summer 2012 Ottawa Fashion Week shows at the beautiful Ottawa Convention center. It lasted three days starting on September 29th- October 1st 2011. This event came with many highlights to have the perfect night – a marketplace before entering the show with drinks, local musical talent, boutiques set up with beautiful jewellery and much more . The market place also included complimentary touch up stations for hair and makeup that was perfect before the guests had a chance to have their photos professionally taken by sponsors. Ottawa Fashion Week brought out not only national but international clothing designers for the lucky guests to get a chance to see. Fashion lovers, bloggers and twitter leaders went wild for the fun bold colors, daring designs and elegant pieces that were offered by all the talented designers such as Kania Couture. The line carried beautiful feather head pieces and draped dresses. Ralph Leroy offered a fire themed show with warm hues and golden tones. RUD styled by RUDSAK featured elegant yet fun designs for the everyday. Ottawa Fashion Week ended its show with world-renowned fashion journalist and fashion personality’s designs; Edit by Jeanne Beker. This line was created to raise money for her organization Dress for Success, a not-for-profit organization that provides tools for career growth to economically-disadvantaged women. A special guest on the runway was Nicole Holness – TV personality from MTV. This was an excellent way to end the show leaving people with a message of helping one another in this fabulous industry and glorifying that Ottawa has a lot more to offer to the world of fashion and it’s a force to be reckoned with.
