Art is something that is very interesting and that many people with different tastes enjoy. Whether it is crafts, fine art or counterparty art there are numerous different unique pieces that everyone can enjoy and appreciate. Fashion Weekly Magazine took the time to research two very large upcoming art events that are happening in Toronto.
Toronto is filled with different Art pieces around the city and has many talented artists living in the city. The Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition (TOAE) is a juried showcase featuring contemporary fine art and craft that takes place annually on Nathan Phillips Square. This annual event takes place every July and this year will be running on Friday July 6th from 10:30am -7:30pm, Saturday July 7th from 10:30 am-7:30pm, and Sunday July 8th from 10:30am-6:30pm. This event is free admission and a fun event for all ages. As the largest juried outdoor art exhibition in Canada, TOAE offers a fresh-air alternative to conventional art shows and galleries. Hundreds of artists participate and an estimated 100,000 visitors attend the exhibition every year. Side by side, established artists, undiscovered talents and innovative students sell their work directly to the public and make lasting connections with art dealers and collectors.
The Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition is a charitable, non-profit organization supported by a group of volunteers active in the art and corporate communities.
The second event that is taking place in Toronto is “Picasso Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris” at the Art Gallery of Ontario. This event is taking place from May 1st till August 26th 2012. Here you can experience Picasso’s own collection of 147 art pieces he had kept for himself. The admission prices for this event are as follows, adults are $25, seniors (65 and over) are $21.50, and children under 5 are free. It is recommended to purchase your tickets online before the event and enter the specific time you will be attending. If you purchase your ticket beforehand and the time you will be attending your will receive a pre-established number which will allow visitors to enjoy shorter lines and a better viewing experience of these amazing unique pieces of art. The Art Gallery of Toronto is closed on Mondays but open Tuesday till Sunday from 10am till 5:30pm and on Wednesdays till 8:30pm. This event is truly an amazing art experience because you are viewing 147 works of Picasso that are rarely ever shown. If you are a true art fanatic this is a must see event. Toronto is filled with different art exhibits and events that happen year round. The two events mentioned were just some that Fashion Weekly Magazine thought would be a great summer fun filled day!
