Authentic Italian Pizza in the heart of Toronto

Pizzeria Libretto isn’t your ordinary pizza joint. With two locations in Toronto, one on Ossington and one on Danforth, Pizzeria Libretto has made quite the reputation for itself. The restaurants atmosphere is homey and inviting. The décor gives off a fun, welcoming vibe and the place is always packed with people, laughing and having a good time.
Libretto uses only fresh ingredients that are delivered daily for their pizzas. San Marzano Tomatoes from the foot of Mount Vesuvius in Naples, Fiore di Latte Mozzarella and dough made from Italian double zero flour. The pizzas are then cooked in a wood burning oven that reaches 900 degrees, and only take 90 seconds to cook! This oven was hand made in Naples and was shipped across the ocean because you simply cannot make real Neapolitan pizza without this oven. Libretto follows guidelines set out by the Verace Pizza Napolentana Association, which are set by the Italian Government and the European Union, making their pizza VPN certified. This means you are eating authentic Italian pizza! The crust is crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside, and the fresh ingredients make the pizza almost melt in your mouth.
Libretto also offers a wide range of appetizers that are just as authentic and delicious as their pizzas. Warm marinated olives, Prosciutto, and a wide variety of fresh cheeses (to name a few) are a great start to your meal before the main attraction. Of course, an authentic Italian meal wouldn’t be complete without dessert and a coffee. The menu offers delicious Italian desserts and fair trade organic espresso, a great way to end your meal.
Another great thing about Pizzeria Libretto is that they are always trying to be as green as possible. They don’t use bottled water, but instead filtered Toronto water, they try to use locally grown ingredients wherever possible and their kitchen grease is converted to biodiesel fuel, just to name a few.
If you don’t have a trip planned to Italy anytime soon, Pizzeria Libretto is the next best thing! Visit one of their two Toronto locations to experience it for yourself.
