Who would think that a country known for kangaroos, koala bears, and opposite seasons from Canada would be a hot destination to travel? Australia’s intriguing landscape is beyond stunning from the rainforests, beaches and metropolitan cities. If you plan to visit Australia for the very first time, Melbourne and Sydney are not the only hot spots to look forward to. Entrenched with nature, animals and coastal areas, there is more beyond and outside Australia’s cities. Great food, tourist attractions and an amazing nightlife are also things to consider if you really want to spice up your time in the southern hemisphere!

Bondi Beach is probably the most famous beach located in Sydney. A sight to be seen and soak in while looking over the coast, Bondi is a definite place to let loose and enjoy the weather while surfing or taking a swim. Be aware though, high tides and currents are anticipated and can be hazardous if you want to surf, however along that lengthy beach subtle waves may be your best bet if you are a beginner. If you’re lucky enough, you may spot whales and dolphins along the bay or get this, even penguins swimming on the shore. There is also a skate park if you’re into skateboarding too!

Lucky Bay Beach is located in Cape Le Grand National Park in Western Australia. Known for its beautiful white sand and clear blue waters, there is more to this beach than just taking in the sun. Snorkelling, hiking, camping are just some of the other activities you can do. Not to mention that you are bound to see kangaroos or whales if you keep a close lookout!

Tasmania has been a great tourist attraction for many years as it is enriched with Australia’s history of preserved landscapes and jails. This island is a true paradise to enjoy the outdoors and if you really enjoy hiking. This location was also home to the film Lord of The Rings!

Cairns is a destination spot if you are looking to enjoy a tropical atmosphere. Amongst the rainforests, islands and reefs is an elaborate adventure of gourmet foods, drinking, dancing, and snorkelling. Be sure to check out The Great Barrier Reef for the world’s largest coral reef surrounded by variety of species of aquatic life and plants. Cairns Night Market is a definite spot to check out for cheap and cheerful dining. Ofcourse, how can we forget some much needed shopping? Cairns Central is its city’s largest shopping mall and is located in Queensland.

Melbourne
Queen Victoria Market is for tourists and locals interested in affordable fresh produce, as well as other edible treats and cultural foods. The Rialto Tower is a must see to experience the 360-degree view of Melbourne if you are a first time visitor of the city. Federation Square is a public art in itself. As one of the most popular attractions, this spot manages to constantly compel tourists and locals with live entertainment, special events, functions, and causes. There are also many great eatery spots to devour into while in the city. Lord of the Fries not only serves fries and rings with at least 13 tasty sauces to choose from. It is a recognized food joint with awards for the best burger in Melbourne and best restaurant for vegetarian and vegan foods. And don’t forget to check out Affogato. An espresso bar you can also dine in for delicious soups, burgers, and platters.

Sydney
It’s not hard to be in Sydney without getting a look at the Harbour Bridge. This is one of the cities busiest and iconic attractions that it is must to visit whether driving, walking, or biking along it. Just alongside is The Rocks and Circular Quay Restaurants if you’re looking for some good food restaurants or cafes. The Sydney Aquarium has been a popular place to visit to see a large scale of aquatic life up close. The most well-known exhibit at this zoo is the large, see-through aquarium where sharks and other fishes hover above you as you walk through the attraction. And don’t forget to make a stop at Olympic Park where the 2000 Olympics were held. A true park in itself, it not only has a history to be told, but it’s also a great place for strolling around!
