Joe Fresh

With innovative style and low
prices, Joe Mimran has managed to
take the fashion world by storm. Joe
Fresh, a line launched in March 2006,
carries everything from women’s chic
skinny jeans, outdoor active wear to
even nighttime intimates.
In a way to attract the average
everyday shopper, Mimran created
a line to be carried in Loblaws
superstores. Offering a combination of
trend, affordability, and conveniently,groceries, the demanding mom could now
accomplish multiple things in one destination.
Since the line launched in forty Real Canadian
Superstores in March 2006, it has expanded to
over seventy locations. This concept was created
after years of hard work and commitment
with other well-known Canadian clothing
corporations.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts from York
University and a Bachelor of Commerce from
the University of Windsor, Mimran became a
chartered accountant and worked as a CA for
two years. Growing up, Mimran lived in a world
surrounded by clothing. With his mother and
brother working directly in the fashion world,
the soon-to-be styling icon was following their
footsteps. Soon Mimran began working with
Alfred Sung and within no time a timeless
fashion empire was born: Club Monaco. The
single store on Queen Street soon grew rapidly,
turning Canadians heads to look twice at its chic
styles and classic looks.
After selling Club Monaco (and Caban) to
the Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation, Mimran
decided to do some consulting, which eventually
led him to developing a relationship with
Loblaws Companies Ltd and a position as the
creative director of the President’s Choice Home
collection. In due time, the idea to develop an
apparel line surfaced, leading to Joe Fresh.
The line carries attractive and chic garments for
surprisingly low prices, averaging at only $15.
