            We’re all aware of the endless benefits that come with consuming the right amount of water each day — great skin, healthy kidneys, regular bowel function, controlled caloric intake, balanced bodily fluids. Yet, many of us still haven’t found a way to incorporate the recommended eight glasses/day. A large number of people claim this is due to their indifference to the “taste” of water. Well, perhaps they mean lack of taste. Enter our newest obsession at Fashion Weekly: infused water. What we love about it? Unlike the trending “natural” vitamin water, which boasts health benefits like no other while secretly containing artificial sweeteners, colourings, and a variety of preservatives, infused water is truly 100% organic, not to mention delicious. It’s also incredibly simply and quick to make!


Nutrition Stripped’s McKel Hill teaches us how. The following excerpt is from her blog (


  1. 1.       First, simply add the fruit//vegetables in the glass first, take a muddler (or just use a wooden spoon or regular spoon) to slightly mash and breakdown the fruit//vegetables.2.       Next, simply take the herb//spice of choice and gently bruise the leaf (i.e. gently mashing), this helps release the natural extracts and oils from the herb//spice.
    1. Tip: peel the citrus fruits from their skin to avoid a bitter taste.
  2. 3.       Lastly, add either sparkling water or good ole’ filtered water and drink!


At Fashion Weekly we love a cucumber-watermelon-mint combination for its refreshing effect. Another well-loved infusion? Strawberry, kiwi and mint! However, the fruits and vegetables added to your DIY infusion are totally up to you and your unique taste buds.
