As the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, nothing sets the mood like a great group of friends, a little bubbly, and of course, an outstanding beauty look. It doesn’t take a lot to transform an everyday makeup routine into a show-stopping night look to help you celebrate in style. As you ring in the New Year, start 2013 off on a fresh and glamorous foot by indulging in some of FW’s must-have beauty looks inspired by Hollywood’s “It” girls.

Look 1: Blake Lively

Take a cue from the new Mrs. Reynolds and leave that caked on makeup look at the door! Blake is known for working a light smoky eye with fresh cheeks and lips. To incorporate this look into your New Year’s festivities, rim your eyes with a black kohl liner and lightly smudge to create a smoky effect. Add a few layers of ultra black mascara to really make your eyes pop. A light dusting of a rose coloured blush will give your cheeks a fresh feel, and follow by highlighting your cheekbones, brow bones, and inner eyes with a light, sparkly highlighter. To complete the look, a light pink lip gloss or matte lipstick will promise a sweet New Year’s kiss when the clock hits twelve.

Look 2: Kristen Stewart

Nothing says New Year’s more than a fabulous red dress and matching red lip. To try Kristen’s look here, start with filling in your brows to get a bold look that frames the face. Use a light eyeshadow to define the eyes and mascara to make them glow! A light dusting of a deep shaded blush will get your cheekbones noticed while still looking party-ready. The last step is a bold red lip, perfected by starting with lining and filling in the lips, adding a matching lip stain, and topping it off with a red hot lipstick. Not only will your pearly whites look even whiter, but a red lip is sure to get you noticed!

Look 3: Beyonce

Sasha Fierce is known to rock the wildest costumes and most fabulous hair, but not to be forgotten are her one-of-a-kind nail designs. This New Year’s calls for sparkle and glamour, and nothing speaks more truly to that than a trendy nail colour. To get this look, start with a clear base coat to ensure your nails won’t be damaged by any colour or decals. Next, apply two coats of your favourite sparkly nail polish (you can never go wrong with gold or silver). Apply another layer of clear coat to seal the polish and add a glossy shine. If you’re feeling daring, add on a few gems or crystals to really take your look to the next level. When the ball drops, the upkeep of your fabulous nails is one resolution you won’t have to make!
