Countdown to Christmas: 95 days. Yes, that’s right the Fashion Weekly team is already gearing up for the festivities that ensue every December. Who can blame us? With twinkling lights dressing up our snowy Toronto streets, mistletoe stationed in all the right places, and carolers spreading Christmas cheer, it truly is the most wonderful time of year.
So, when we received our invite to The Body Shop’s holiday event we couldn’t help but squeal with joy. The soirée was hosted at Woods Restaurant & Bar—I must interject here that upon entering the venue it did not resemble a bar in slightest, it was a full-on Winter Wonderland, complete with a Christmas tree and delicious, festive cocktails. Numerous stations were set up; one for decorating gingerbread men; multiple providing guests with the chance to win exciting prizes; and one in particular that gave attendees the chance to write messages to the children that would be benefiting from The Body Shop’s ‘School Project.’
This inspired project is all about providing children in communities in Ghana, Honduras, Nepal and Northern and Southern India with the chance to receive an education. The company is donating $300,000 from the sales of its holiday products to build five schools in these parts of the world.
Amidst all the socializing, and the taking of pictures with the holiday season’s finest (Frosty, Santa, and a Gingerbread Man!), guests got the chance to take a sneak peek at The Body Shop’s holiday collection. Some of our favourites? The Sparkler, White Musk Smoky Rose eau de parfum, and the entire new Ginger Sparkle special edition collection (the most divine smell).
Cheers to The Body Shop and its pulling together of such an incredible, fun-filled event. Now we really can’t wait for the holidays!
