Workout Tips for the Winter months

By Kerriann

Before you know it winter has arrived! From snow storms to ice storms, it is almost close to impossible to go outside much less make it all the way to the gym. Okay so our cover image was deceiving purposely! Who wants to be out there when its like that???

Here are a few workout tips to try at home to help get you through those cold, snowy days.

  1. Jump rope

Perfect tool to use indoors; great for cardio & to get your blood pumping

  1. Water bottle weights

If you don’t own a set of dumbells, filling up a couple water bottles would be a good alternative

  1. Lunges

Lunges can be done all around your house/apartment. You can do lunges from one room to the next. It is a great leg workout!

  1. Crunches

All you need is a yoga mat! Crunches are a great way to work out your core/abs. Make sure to take your time with each rep, the faster you go isn’t necessarily the most effective.

  1. Squats

The best part about working out at home is that you can cater it to your own needs. You can do Squats in front of the TV and wouldn’t have to miss your favourite shows.

  1. Music

Put on your favourite playlist/dance music and just dance like no one is watching! Do it solo or have your friends join in, this is definitely a fun way to burn those calories.
